Methods
Better directions require good questions.
We have experience with the following methods for research and evaluation in the social science. We apply these in both user-focused and theory-driven contexts.
Surveys
Validated learning measures in STEM Education
UX Research Surveys (hotspotting, response testing, A/B testing)
Cognitive interviews and testing
Statistical tests of difference
Validation and reliability (EFA/ PCA)
Surveys are ethical because users understand exactly what data they are giving you and how you are going to analyze it. Unlike video and audio research, they are easy to deidentify and preserve the participants' exact meaning. Surveys are also affordable, scalable, and straightforward. If you don't like your current survey results, get in touch.
Contextual video studies
Video collection
Rubric and coding scheme generation
Coding and logging
Memo generation
Findings preparation
Interviews
Protocol generation and testing
Memo generation and findings preparation
Focus Groups
All research is done with the highest degree of ethics, including user permissions, IRB support, school district or parent permissions, or media release for publication.
